Single Phase vs Three Phase

The J models (JQV and JQH) operate on a 220-240V single phase power supply and require a 40A circuit. They provide a nominal cooling capacity of 14.63 kW, draw 4.10 kW of power and achieve a COP of 3.56

The D modes (DQV and DQH) operate on a 380-415V three phase power supply and require only a 20A circuit. They deliver a slightly higher 14.79 kW cooling capacity, consume 3.90 kW of power and achieve a higher COP of 3.79, making them more energy efficient where three phase power is available.

Top Discharge vs Side Discharge

The JQV and DQV models feature a top discharge fan, exhausting air vertically upwards. They require 2.5 metres of clearance above the unit and have a cabinet size of 1007 × 650 × 1087 mm.

The JQH and DQH models feature a side discharge fan, directing air horizontally. They require only 350 mm overhead clearance but need 2.5 metres of clearance in front of the fan discharge. These models are slightly lower, measuring 1007 × 650 × 1061 mm

Summary

All four models use the same titanium shell and tube heat exchanger, Rheem IQ Control, R410A refrigerant and produce a quiet 51 dBA noise level. The choice comes down to two factors:

  • Single phase (J models) or three phase (D models) electrical supply.
  • Top discharge (QV) or side discharge (QH) airflow configuration to suit the installation space.
